About HoneyCreek Vineyard/Orchards
Nested in the upper Ozarks region of Missouri, Warrensburg is where the wife (Linda) and I (Ben) call it
our home. Atop a hill is where our house is and in the bottoms is where HoneyCreek guides its way through our woods. A pleasing site to sit and just feel nature at its best, to sooth the mind
after a days work and to become one with God's gift to us.
Sitting on our peace of heaven we have in the back parts of our place 300 Grapevines from Vidal's to Concord's to some Missouri's own Norton's and others. To the west is our Orchard of Apple's, Peach's, Plum's, Nectarine's, Pear, Bing Cherry trees no less than 4 trees each.
Planted along the Orchard's sides and around the Fence we have our Gooseberries, Elderberries, Austin Dew berries, Blackberries, Raspberries (red and golden). All of which no less than 15 plants each.
Around the yard and close by in the woods we have Persimmon trees, Choke Cherry, Mulberry, Wild Grapes, Pecan's, Walnuts and some I have yet to figure out.
The fruit selections are endless, hence the Wine limitless for our needs. The wife and I spend most of our free time walking, looking, working and feeling every moment we can as to us there can be no brighter light than looking upon the wonders of nature. Wine making is but one thing we do, it does not consume our time though does take a good portion of it. We look upon it as just another hobby for us, 1 among many we have.
As with anything a person does you can either let it control you or take control of it, we try to take control of it rather it of us. In doing so it remains a fun thing to us never becoming just work. This to me anyway allows for creativity to play a great role in the wine making. What people seem to forget is that wine is not just about grapes if you only focus on grapes then you miss so much that a good wine could be. Think of it like this, other than meat if you can eat it then you stand a good chance of making a wine from it. Do not limit yourself always allow for the what if when it comes to making your wines this is where country wines came to be.
Some have asked why there is no charge or why I do not ask for donations the answer is simple, I love what I do and desire to share it with those that also have the desire. Can you do anything to help, just keep on coming back, look around, take something with you from the site. It does not come from us but through where you went to, we have nothing to do with the transaction at all except for the fact you clicked on it from this site. That helps us to maintain the site, do updates, purchase new software for the site and so on. Enough of that.....
Hobbies are endless as there are many. From my RC airplanes to the ATV's we own of
which this has to be my favorite pass time. Riding in the woods around the area or the creek is just wonderful for the mind. Now I am not a expert nor do I take to the air but I do tend to get
a bit crazy time to time on them. As of now we have a 2006 800XT Can-AM, 2005 Yamaha 660 Grizzly and a 2005 Honda Foreman 500.
As you can see, not a bad wheelie for a 4-wheeler and a old man riding it, love it.....
