Line Back says he makes this batch every year for family and friends for Christmas and hopes you try it. Though we have not used this recipe nor do we use anything but true wine yeast we have in the early days used bread yeast with mixed results. If you do want to try this recipe by all means do so, it is a fairly fast way to make a quick wine for your needs. Will it come out like a good Cabernet, no but it could beat some of the store bought cheap wines, you be your own judge. .
5 cans blueberry pie filling
4 Camden tablets
10 lbs sugar
1 cake red star baking yeast and water to make five gallons
Put pie filling in primary bucker, boil all water and add to bucket add 5 lbs sugar dissolve completely, add Camden tablets "crush between 2 spoons to make a powder" let cool until 78deg, then add yeast "I use approximately 2 cups of the juice and mix yeast and get it started b4 adding to mixture", use air lock let ferment 7 days rack off/ due not disturb settlement, save out approximately 1/2 gal and heat on stove dissolve 5 lbs sugar let cool and add back to bucket vessel! let ferment 30 days and rack until clear!
